Story

Amy rainbow

Amy rainbow is one of my very best friends. I’m setting up this page for her and her family to try raise some money to help fund her private treatments.

Story time –

Amy had found a large lump in her breast several years ago, which kept getting brushed off by all professionals because of Amy’s young age. After many back and forth to the doctors, In May of 2021 Amy was diagnosed with stage3 breast cancer at the young age of 26 when her daughter was only 4 months old and her son 4. Amy underwent several rounds of chemotherapy/ radiotherapy/ immunotherapy & a mastectomy throughout 2021-2022. She finished all treatment and got the all clear in November 2022.

Amy had expressed concerns over symptoms that have occurred throughout her treatment, however these were dismissed by the NHS professionals and passed off as a result of side effects of the treatment. Amy has never had a brain scan as it is not something that is covered when you are diagnosed with cancer, they only scan from the neck down. However the symptoms continued after treatment finished, and she knew something was not right. Amy suffered with light-headedness, blurred vision and headaches for many months.

In March 2023, Amy turned to a private breast consultant in a last bid to pay for a brain scan however again, Amy was unsuccessful in receiving any form of scan, as it was ‘highly unlikely’ to spread to the brain so quickly

Amy tried to do what all the professionals had told her to do, to start moving forward with her life. In June 2023, Amy underwent her last stage in her reconstruction journey and was now looking forward to starting back in her career as a nurse.

Amy struggled with her recovery & her previous symptoms got increasingly worse. After suffering for weeks with constant migraines & feeling unwell, she took herself to A&E. Unfortunately she received the devastating news that they had found a large tumour growing in her brain, that has now been confirmed as secondary breast cancer (stage4 incurable).

A week later, Amy went in for surgery to remove the tumour, which was successful. She now requires 6 rounds of radiotherapy up in Newcastle, and will also have to go back onto immunotherapy for as long as this treatment works with scans every 3 months.

Amy has found a private oncologist who is willing to take on her care, to give her the best chance of being here as long as possible with her gorgeous family. Any donations are greatly appreciated big or small to help towards private treatments, holistic and natural medicines and alternative therapies.

Amy and Ste never ask for anything, they are both very hard workers and have always funded everything on their own up to now. I’m doing this because I think they deserve a break and I feel people would want to help them. They deserve this, more than anyone.

Thank You in advance for your donations
