Story

I will try and keep it short but for something that does not make sense it’s hard to put it into just a few words......

30th March 2018 - away in Dawlish camping our dad woke up and was not 100% he was taken to Torbay hospital by Mum, he was admitted onto EAU3 as he’d had a small heart attack, he also had a chest infection, myself ben and kathrine had all been at the hospital to see our dad who was chuffed he got 2 lots of ice cream might I add..!! And although on oxygen was sat up in bed talking to us, tired but he was (well seemed) ok. That evening I received a call to say that my brother in law was picking me and ben up to take us back to the hospital our dad had taken a turn for the worse, we arrived at the hospital to find our dad in ICU on life support, it was a long night, getting home at 3:30am Saturday morning.

31st March 2018 - everyone was at the hospital (I was at home sorting children..!!) I was waiting to be picked up to go see dad....

10:30 that morning I spoke to a man called Matt he had been dads nurse since the staff changed over, that phone call was the worst call I’ve ever had and the worst news my family had just received to their faces in the family room on ICU, there was nothing more they could do for our dad and I would be going to the hospital to join my family so we could be together to say our “see you laters” In such a short time our life’s were turned upside down and inside out....

He was our 5ft3 giant and although he was small he had the kindest heart and most loving nature, 1:10pm on the 31st March 2018 our dad fell asleep....

In memory of our dad and our mums best friend we are hoping to raise enough money to buy an ECG machine, although our dads care from all at Torbay Hospital was amazing it took 3 machines to get the reading they were trying to find out, the machines were not working, one of the machines had a note on it saying “wiggle screen to work”

At the time we didn’t know how critical our dad was and I’m not saying those results would have changed what happened if they had managed to get them first time round but maybe for someone else they will need them quickly to be able to treat that patient....

any support in making this possible for us to do would be gratefully received,

Thank you 💛
