Weʼre raising £1,000 to raise money to undertake a youth and sports development volunteer project supporting children in Fiji.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My volunteer project supports a small charity, Think Pacific Foundation, who work in remote villages in Fiji where over 75% of children are living below the poverty line and only 5% receiving education in their early years. So far, these programmes have successfully increased literacy rates by 40%, however there is evidently still progress I hope to help achieve. Despite the safe environment and friendly community, 50% lack access to adequate sanitation and fresh water therefore any donations will help contribute towards changing this.
I aim to raise £1,000 to enable me to go and live with a host family in Fiji to partake in the project with over 1/3 of this being donated directly to support the children by supplying resources, helping to re-build and equip schools and supporting long term, sustainable educational initiatives for children and local teachers. Implementation of skills I have been lucky enough to gain through my education will be key as I aspire to aid those less fortunate overcome their severe lack of opportunities through one-on-one teaching and mentoring whilst netball coaching alongside the Fijian community.
Alongside working, I plan to complete various fundraising activities from cake sales to running an inflatable 10k run on Saturday April 9th which any donations in support of would be really appreciated.
Thank you so much for your time & any donations you are able to please make, every little helps so thank you!
