Story

Hi, my name is Amy and myself and my mum work in Arcadia Sweet Shop in Bedford town centre. Everyday a lovely homeless man comes into our shop for a bar of kendal mint cake, he is always warm, polite and a genuienly lovely man. A few weeks ago he came into our shop elated as he had managed to get together £250 to get himself off the streets, just in time to avoid the harsh cold. This morning he did not come into our shop, instead he was sat at the bottom of the arcade in tears as last night, in the middle of the night, he was attacked and mugged. All this money, the money to get himself off the streets is gone and he is back to square one. Now to a lot of people £250 does not sound like a massive number, but it had taken a whole year for him to save this money. I know its christmas season, and every penny is spoken for, but I feel we need to show him that society is decent, and that people do care. Any spare change you would have spent on that coffee would make a real difference.

Thank You
