Story

I am fundraising to allow me to study a Masters in ‘Contemporary Art And The Moving Image’ at the Royal College of Art. I am a single parent from a low-income household, with high aspirations and a determination to reach my full potential.
The Royal College of Art is a specialist institution and a leader in its field, ranked number one worldwide. The fees attached to studying at The Royal College are substantial with student loans and government funding not covering the full amounts of tuition fees, leaving part-payment tuition, living, travel and materials costs. Support with funding would allow me to take this incredible opportunity and enable me to pursue my career as an artist and filmmaker. Studying on this course would give me a greater chance of making a cultural contribution and success and my field and employment post my MA, increasing my earning potential, creating a secure financial future for my daughter and myself.
I am a contemporary artist, completing my Bachelors of Fine Art in 2010, with a first class Honors degree. Since my graduation, I have had success within my chosen field exhibiting at various galleries/locations and have been involved in a number of council and community lead projects.
Art is a subject I feel very passionately for, my creative practice takes mundane, everyday experience of space and its inhabitants, and elucidates their unique and extraordinary qualities. This standard of education has at time felt beyond what I could achieve, struggling through compulsory education due to sever dyslexia, I was unable to access the curriculum. From 12 years old I have been recording the world around me, Art and film making have allowed me to unlock my potential, but has given me the tools to express, explore and understand myself and my environment. I am looking for up to £5000 to support me though my studies.
