In June 2018, a group of Paediatric nurses from LSBU and I have been given a once in a life time opportunity to spend a month in Uganda, providing medical equipment, care, education and support to children and families in hospital and in the community. Visiting Kampala, Hoima, and Kasambya and working with 3 amazing charities; KISS, Uganda Hands, and Kids Club Kampala, who work to ensure children and families gain the knowledge they need to live the healthiest and safest lives.

People that know me will know I had very different plans for my elective placement, but this is an opportunity that would be rare to fall into my hands in the future, and I would be foolish to let it pass. My plans can wait, this way I can help the families and children I meet make their own.

Over the next year I will be doing a range of fundraising activities to help fund my journey, so if you wish to donate to this experience and to the children and families in such underdeveloped communities, I would be eternally grateful, and they would be too.
