During the Summer of 2017, I will be embarking on a 5 week expedition around, and deep into the Peruvian Jungle. Working alongside the Crees Foundation, a non-profit organisation who solely dedicates their support in promoting a sustainable Amazon rainforest, I will be aiding in their efforts through conservation research, scientific fieldwork and community development.

Our main base camp will be in the area of Manu. Manu is home to part of the last intact forest in Peru and is the centre of multiple fragile ecosystems. It is also the home not only to an amazing array of fauna and flora, but also to indigenous people and an ever increasing community of immigrant settlers who are struggling to live sustainably and in harmony.

From surveying wild monkeys, birds, snakes, butterflies and a huge array of reptiles, I will also grasp the opportunity to work on innovative sustainability projects in the village of Salvación that are helping to build sustainable livelihoods. This will enable local families to live prosperous and healthy lives without destroying their rainforest home.

Any donated money, whether large or small, will assist in funding for personal and scientific kit and the essential vaccinations that are required in order to prevent many of the life-threatening diseases easily found in the Amazon. I hope that you will aid me and my team in helping to support these deteriorating ecosystems and in building a more sustainable environment for all life found there.
