As we all know, with this current government and climate, homelessness is rife in the UK. It's going to be a harsh winter and an even harsher Christmas and New Year for the people without a place to live. Living near the centre of Manchester, I see examples of homelessness and struggle every single day and it just isn't fair.

There are people who are cold and in need of blankets, food, hot drinks and sanitary products. These are all thinks most of us don't need to worry about in our day to day lives. Even if we think we are having a bad day, we can still go home and put the kettle on or get into our duvets and watch a cheesy film. The reality is there are people who are starving and freezing who feel little happiness and little hope, and can't just put the kettle on and escape from their problems for an hour like the majority of us.

This Christmas and New Year I'd like to go round the centre of Manchester and offer a little token of Christmas cheer to the people who need it most. Any money raised, along with donations of my own, will go towards the bare necessities and seasonal treats.

This is a cause that weighs heavily on my shoulders every day of the year, but especially now when everything is filled with festive love and there are people being overlooked who are in dire need.
