I've raised £1500 to help fund a building of nursery school in Valsad, Umbergaon, Gujarat, India.

,
I was recently invited to visit a nursery building start-up in December 2018, in small village, Valsad in Gujarat, India. I have fell in love with this small, quiet and forgotten place, where the young vulnerable children, have no where they can thrive play and learn. The effects of poverty on children are wide-reaching and can lead to lifelong struggles, especially when young people don’t receive full educations. Poverty and education are inextricably linked, because people living in poverty may stop going to school so they can work, which leaves them without literacy and numeracy skills they need to further their careers. Their young children, in turn, are taken to work and have no childcare options, where they can play, learn and enjoy a childhood they deserve.
This project is the vision of a dear friend Sorab Canteenwalla. He has dedicated himself to making a positive e change in this area by building schools for older children. He now brings his attention to a very much needed preschool nursery.
The funds raised will go towards: electricity and water lines, fans, lights, windows, a door, painting of the main building and then a further construction of a small toilet and small garden area. The nursery will also need nursery furniture and play equipment.
All the monies will be given to an entrusted friend, Sorab Canteenwalla, and myself. Please help me to change the lives of young children..... by donating as little or as much as you can, every penny will be gratefully received.
