Forms are available in the Stockport Sport For All Centre.at 1 pm on Saturday 15 September 2018. Young people from the league then also take part in a fund raising match where players pay by donation to play from 2 pm until 3 pm.
Anderson was visiting family in Belgium and had gone to a Fairground for his 13th Birthday treat. It was there that he had an accident where he was thrown from a dodgem car. His skull was fractured and he received damage to his lungs. Anderson was in a coma for two weeks but initially made a quick recovery and after three weeks he was able to speak to friends on the phone. He had an operation to fix a plate to his damaged skull and this was a success.
Unfortunately, whilst recovering in Hospital in Belgium Anderson suffered a major brain haemorrhage and although the operation to deal with this was successful Anderson was then unconscious for many weeks and has still not fully regained consciousness. He has been flown back to England and is now in Manchester Teaching Hospital where he is minimally conscious.
As soon as his mother, Bertille Laure, heard about the accident she flew to Belgium and remained by Anderson's bedside for the three months that he was ill in Belgium. Bertille Laure has now lost her job as a consequence of this unavoidable absence from work.
The young people and coach of Anderson's team and his many friends in the community Basketball league have decided to provide some financial support for Anderson at this difficult time. It is not yet clear what Anderson's needs will be in the future and Bertille Laure is to use the money in any way that is helpful to their situation.
