Story

Just $1/£1 donated by you would help Matt achieve what now has become his American Dream. Ever had a headache? We take a pill. That doesn't work for Matt.

Even got angry? After a while it dissipates. Not so for Matt. He has zero control due to his CTE condition. With only 5 years left to live his dream is to come to terms with and accept his fate, to have ‘Dad fun’ with his 7yr old son and, for at least a while enjoy what’s left of his life.

Take a moment read his story, find it in your heart to give, please help us raise the money we need for Matt’s ‘ Bucket List,’ it would be the greatest gift you could give to a fellow human being.

Thank you.

Matt's story....

Ice Hockey causes 44.3% of all traumatic brain injuries among kids and teenagers. These head injuries can have lingering effects, and can ultimately prove fatal. The approaches to understanding Amazonian medicine, notably Ayahuasca is both Shamanistic and Scientific. Yet the one thing it can deliver is an alternative in thinking. And if there is anything Matt needs right now it’s perceptual alterations.

Matt began life as a regular kid growing up in New Hampshire in the 70’s. He studied hard, worked tirelessly for his eventual job as a nuclear welder, married, bought a house, raised a family and made a run at the American dream. Now, at the age of forty- three he’s been given only a few years to live, having been diagnosed with CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a degenerative brain condition associated with repeated blows to the head, that he incurred as a teenager playing ice hockey.

We are aiming to take Matt from North Carolina on an immersive, holistic programme of treatment that he believes it's his last hope of being able to perhaps prolong his life and deal with the idea of dying before his seven year old son, Matthew becomes a teenager himself. Our documentary will follow his journey, emphasising the dangers of brain injury from contact sport and highlighting the fact that research suggests that this holistic treatment can have a positive, life changing affect on people dealing with an array of mental health conditions, such as depression, PTSD and behavioural issues.
