Dementia Help and Support

Sight and Mind is a Community Interest Company (CIC) proudly embedded within the borough of Knowsley. With dementia increasingly prevalent in families across the borough, Sight & Mind was launched in 2018 to provide complimentary help and support to families caring for a loved one with Dementia and/or Sensory Impairment. We will walk with you, side by side, through the maze to ensure you feel heard, valued and have the knowledge you need of the statutory and voluntary services available from the point of diagnosis through to advance stages.

We are also passionate about educating and empowering individuals, families and organisations. Our training courses will give you a greater understanding of the barriers that individuals with Dementia and/or Sensory Impairment face along with practical solutions to help with everyday routines that also take into consideration the wellbeing of the carer and the cared for.

Dementia Awareness Training – improve your knowledge and understanding of how to care for someone living with Dementia.

Visual Impairment Awareness Training (VIAT) – understand the additional needs and concerns of those living with vision loss/impairment.

Sight and Mind helped my grandparents with support that ranged from applying for the relevant financial benefits to connecting with statutory services. Grandad was able to remain as independent as possible as they facilitated all the necessary aids that were required to ensure he was able to continue living at home.

Now that my grandad has passed, Sight and Mind still continue to support my nan with practical help, advice and wellbeing calls. As a family we would have found the situation harder to manage as we are all hundreds of miles away. Sight and Mind were the reassuring calm voice for the family.
