Story
Let me introduce myself..........
Some of you may already know me from around the club and helping with the children on a Saturday morning.
What you probably don't know is that I am currently the only competing wheelchair tennis player in Cornwall and in February 2016 in just my second year of competing I proudly gained my world ranking and became the 11th placed lady in the UK.
In 2015 I won the ladies Development Series which brought my number of trophies to 8 for my first year in full competition. Among the 8 are singles and doubles titles in Plymouth for both 2014 and 2015.
My aim now is to make a bid for the top 10 but to do this I need to be able to put in more and more training and play in as many tournaments as possible to keep up my match experience.
This of all comes at a cost and this is where I am hoping you may be able to help me raise some funds, either by a small donation or if you know of anyone who would like to sponsor me long term that would be fantastic !
Wheelchair tennis has completely changed my life, I used to hide the fact that it helped with my depression but now realise it's nothing to be embarrassed about and believe it should be talked about openly as it's the only way barriers will be broken down.
In July this year I proudly became the only wheelchair user to have a level 2 tennis coaching qualification in the South West and possible even further afield than that.
Tennis means so much to me and now that we have more and more players joining our squad here at Heron it's even more important for me to put time in and spend time at the club to bring these new players on, along with my coach Paul Roberts. As I live almost an hour away from Heron it's quite a cost in fuel every time I come up to Newquay.
The weather is changing now which means I will need to be playing inside, Heron are supporting me with this costs but it is still an extra cost for me to find.
Thank's so much for reading
