Weʼre raising £7,000 to help fund the writing, illustrating and publishing of a seven book series raising the confidence and self-esteem of young children

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I have been asked by a fantastic local charity to write and illustrate a seven book series to build the confidence and self-esteem of young children and I need your support to achieve this.

Mental health problems affect 1 in 10 children and young people - Mental Health Foundation

The need to address low self-esteem, anxiety, lack of confidence and mental health issues within our young has never been greater. Canterbury Christian School's Work Trust has been working for many years in primary and secondary schools tackling this. They have highlighted the growing demand for supporting younger children before these issues take root and have asked me to develop a book series to accompany their new seven week programme.

70% of children and young people who experience a mental health problem have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age - Mental Health Foundation

The production of this Confident Rhymers book series will take hundreds of hours of my time in brainstorming, researching, story-boarding, writing, editing, illustrating, road-testing and publishing. Your generous support will enable me to devote the time needed to complete this invaluable project.

This book series will positively impact the lives of hundreds of children in helping them know they are loved. Children will learn to celebrate the unique gifts and talents they have. They will be empowered to share their feelings and worries confidently. By the end of the book series and course the children will know how special and awesome they are.

Thank you for being awesome too in your support for me!

Bless you

The video below on Adverse Childhood Experiences encapsulates the importance of this book series and course in reinforcing to children how much they are loved and cared for despite whatever life experiences have come their way...

Great working with the brilliant Lisé Jennings, CCSWT's primary schools worker, to continue the development of this book series. We covered lots including ideas for future books and teacher and pupil resources to accompany the series.
