Story

On the 11th April 2022, I joined an exclusive club that no one wants to be a member of. My brother, Andrew, took his own life. He had struggled with mental health issues for a few years but we didn‘t see it coming.

A group of family and friends are cycling the C2C route across England, during the first week in August, in his memory and are splitting any donations between Samaritans and Mind, in a bid to reach out to people who are in a similar position.

Tragically, one of the group, my best buddy Iain, also lost his brother, Alastair, in similar circumstances, so we cycle in both of their memories.

Suicide, especially in young men, is an all too common issue. If our fundraising can just stop one person from experiencing the pain and anguish that our brothers felt and seeing them seek another way out, it will be all worth it.
