Story

When I moved to Ramsbottom there was a leaflet waiting for me when I first opened the door. It was for a local non-profit organisation that was already welcoming me to the community. In a world where it is so easy to unwittingly cut ourselves off from the real world here is a group that is truly trying to reach out.

I am doing the North Downs Way 100 running race (103 miles, 10,000ft climb) on 3rd August 2019 to raise money for this great organisation because through running I have seen what is possible when people come together.

We are your dads and brothers, your sons and uncles. We are the man next door, the nice bloke in the shop and the fella who delivers parcels. We are the millions of men up and down the country who are struggling to participate in a society that's pretty much decided that we're not relevant any more; and we're killing ourselves in record numbers as a consequence.
