I've raised £250 to raise money for the Wendover Arm Trust - a local canal restoration project

To raise a few £s for 4 charities, I am aiming to complete a long distance walking challenge in September
To challenge myself to something I have not done before, I’m walking a 45-mile walking/running event from one side of Wales to the other. If the distance wasn’t enough, it has to be completed in 18 hours on a single day. The route is significant for me as it starts in Clun (on the Welsh/Shropshire border) and where some of my Evans ancestors were from and finishes at the coast just North of Aberystwyth where I spent 3 happy years at uni. In fact, the accommodation after the walk is in the university accommodation where I previously lived – so hopefully they have been updated!
Prior to this year the longest distances I have run or walked have been a couple of half-marathons and I once ran/walked 18 miles locally but then needed to snooze the rest of the day!. Although my Facebook photos show me often running, in reality more than 90% of events that I have done have been max 5km in length so the distance is going to be a very big challenge
The training has begun, and Amelia joined me on a 21 mile walk around Tring and Sophie and I walked a marathon. However, the scary thing is that our actual event is similar to these events added together and has the mountain of Pynlimon ¾ of the way through it!
Sophie is accompanying me , so that will be useful if I need someone to give me a push!
Sponsor me here if you would like to donate to The Wendover Arm Trust – who are doing a great job of restoring a local canal that passes on the north side of Tring along which we often run/walk
In addition, I am raising money for the following 3 charities - which can be found via this link https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/andywaleswalk
Hector’s House – A locally created charity, preventing suicide through awareness, education and support
Water Aid – Aiming to provide clean water and toilets for all – We will probably be rained on in Wales and it’s so easy to take clean water for granted
Wheel Power – A great little charity based at Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury who promote opportunities for thousands of children and young adults with disabilities to participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair sport and improve their quality of life
It would be great if I could raise £250 for each charity, so if you would like to sponsor me, then feel free to choose the charity that you prefer or simply whichever one has the least sponsorship
Thanks in advance for your support
