I've raised £1500 to provide a permanent memorial for Sam Myatt

As you all know I am not a natural athlete and after riding 100 miles on my bike a couple of years ago I swore, never again!
However, time goes by, you forget the pain and then something happens that gives you motivation to go again! I am also easily led after a couple of beers!
Last Sunday I rode another 100 miles in the Birmingham Velo and I rode for Team Sam.Training in the Winter is hard, but thanks to Rhys & Tony and some great weather I managed to take ten minues off my previous time. I did not put a page up before the event as I was not sure I could finish the challenge!
So why Team Sam?
I had known Sam Myatt for around 10 years. He was a big brother to Henry & Charlie, who are good friends of my own kids. He was also a son to my great friend Liz and he was a trusted babysitter for my family.
Unfortunatley Sam tragically died in a car accident in January this year. He was only 20 years old and has left a huge hole in the community.
Sam was a coach for our local kids football club and there have been a series of fundraising events in his honour since he passed.
Over £15,000 has been raised to build a permanent memorial in his name. This is to be a community football facility and will at least provide some good from such a tragic event.
I'm raising money for Team Sam and if you feel you can donate, then please do - he really was a lovely young man.
