Like it or not Mac is being made an example of and is being punished far more severely than truly disturbing crimes are in the UK.
Mac performed procedures on fully consenting adults.

Consent should be enough to have saved Mac from a custodial sentence and indeed a guilty verdict which we know he needed to plead to put an end to this situation.

body modification is grey area in the laws of the uk, instead of convicting a good family man and taking him away from his family, a far more specific legislation should have been made in place of any sentence for Mac. punishing one man for a lack of legal structure is unfair and smallminded.
