Story

On Tuesday 30th October, our daughter, Aimee, lost her battle with Rhabdomyosarcoma Cancer after her diagnosis 14 months ago. Aimee was a student at Southampton University studying to become a nurse, a career she she felt passionately about. Aimee would have made the most fantastic nurse as she was loving, kind and had a genuine desire to help other people.

Throughout her treatment, Aimee provided support and care to other children in the hospital and maintained such a positive outlook that proved infectious to others. At the most difficult, painful and worrying times, she put her efforts into caring for others and trying to comfort and reassure her friends and family.

In the last few weeks of her life, Aimee shared her vision for developing a room in the hospital where children, young teens and their family and friends could go to socialise, watch TV or just spend time out of their hospital beds and away from the wards. Aimee shared this with the staff at UCLH who were able to secure a space and have plans drawn up for the re-development of it.

The total cost of this project is £50,000 and as a family, we intend to raise every penny to ensure Aimee's vision will become a reality. As such, we are reaching out to our friends, friends of friends and those who read this story and just want to support this amazing project.

Please feel free to support this fundraising by making a donation or sharing Aimee's story.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to read Aimee's story and supporting a project that will positively impact on many families at the most challenging time of their lives.

Love Andy and Debbie x
