In December 2013 our lives were shattered in an instant and changed forever.
our beautiful, kind funny lil pirate was diagnosed with a life threatening brain tumour, it was a wonder that he was still alive.
2 Days later in Bristol he underwent lifesaving surgery. Finn nearly died that day he was just 5 years old. He lost Christmas, his ability to walk, talk, focus his eyes and eat. We entered a world of darkness that no parent should enter. Finn had the biggest fight of his life on his hands, he had to fight out of himself and back to us, this was helped by an iPad mini that Finns Dads workmates at Rowes bakery gave him for Christmas. The apps helped to unlock Finn, make him laugh and come back to us.
we could never have afforded one for him for so we're so very grateful.
upon our return to Cornwall we knew we had to make a change and help other poorly kids. we researched iPad mini lending libraries and this became our mission in Finn's name.
2 years ago we installed our first two libraries, one at Curnow school and one at Treliske hospital, we now have libraries in hospitals and paediatric outreach teams across Cornwall. we now need to replace that first library and we need your help to do this in time for Christmas. please give what you can to help poorly kids x x
in addition to our libraries we have also installed televisions across the children's wards at Treliske.
Finn, well he continues to amaze us, he's fighting his second tumour and at his side throughout has been his own trusty iPad mini. distracting him from pain, boredom and frustration. he's some bleddy boy x
