    Story

My wife and I have just come back from a tour of Uganda and had the privilege of visiting this primary school in Bushenyi. We wish to give something back to one of the communities we visited and took school supplies from the UK. We arranged, through the Ugandan based tour company, Katona, to spend some time at the school. In our ignorance we had not realised that the school holidays in Uganda were different from those in the UK, but despite it being their holiday, the headteacher, one of the four teachers and around ten pupils were there to greet us. The teaching staff oversee the education to over 250 children aged 3-11 many of whom are orphans. The teaching staff give their time on a voluntary basis and try and raise money for school equipment, books etc. This is a thankless and never ending task but one they undertake with pleasure. The headteacher, Katoto Issha, has been at the school for 7 years and has such fantastic ideas on how the children can learn more.
As you can see from the photograph the school is not weatherproof and need funds to help them continue their work. The funds raised will go towards competing the build and school resources.
We know this is only one school of many in need but we hope that we can make, with your help, a small difference to this rural community and give these children a good start in life.
We have spoken to the member of parliament for this region and he will ensure that any funds raised are put to use directly for the school.

We have received some support from our sons business; Fone technologies (http://fonetechnologies.com) but we need your help to enable this school to continue making a positive difference and to secure the building for educating future generations.

Please give what you can and if you can think of a business or school in that would like to support this project please let them know. We would welcome any contact for more information.

Please share this story as widely as you can to help us.
