Hi, many who have been directed to this page will already know me but my name is Andrew O’Neill.
I am setting this page up for my mother who has terminal cancer and has a matter of months to live…no matter how many times I hear or say that it does not get any easier or seem any more real.
I know there are many people currently living and dying because of cancer but there is a reason this person deserves your attention.
My mum was born on the 30th of June 1957, she had a tough upbringing but despite this she showed me and my brothers all the unconditional love a parent should.
My mother worked 3 jobs to keep our family afloat, she always made sure there was food on the table, she worked tirelessly to look after us.

18 months ago, we received terrible news that my mother has cancer, we were told it was very much treatable and curable and that 90%+ of people with this type of cancer went on to lead very normal lives after treatment.
She underwent a barrage of chemotherapy & radio therapy and things were looking on the up but then the cancer spread to her pelvis and she had to undergo severely invasive surgery that would change her life forever, we accepted this as we all hoped we would see a positive outcome to what had been an awful time for my mum.
That was not to be the case and on Monday the 14th of Number 2016 she was told her cancer had resisted all the previous treatments and surgeries and that there was nothing more that could be done that would work, she is now facing palliative care and the knowledge that the cancer would eventually kill her.
Now she faces the final months of her life and I am asking for people to help make my mums remaining time as comfortable as possible, there is so much we want to do with her in the little time we have left and with a little help we can achieve this. Our main goals for her are to be pain free, to have lasting memories of her and for her to really enjoy herself.
