Story
Hello, my name is Andrew Philip and I am a 4th year student from Hazlehead Academy.
In July 2019 a group of us will be taking part in a World Challenge to Belize for three weeks.
Belize is a country in Central America bordered by Mexico and Guatemala.
While we are there, we will be spending time in a rural community helping with maintenance and building with schools and villages, helping to expand and renovate teaching areas, and we also plan out of the classroom learning for the local children by organising a sports day for everyone to enjoy.
We will also have time to chill out and explore the country. Plans so far include visiting some Mayan temples and ruins, a jungle trek through a tropical rainforest, but I'm most looking forward to snorkelling on the world's second longest barrier reef.
All of this costs money, so part of the challenge is also to raise funds so that we can go to Belize. With all the activities we plan to do, this figure is currently £3,700 each!
So far to raise this money, I have a paper round, and I have piped at a couple of Burns Suppers. I have also been helping out with the weekly teas and coffees after church. Thank you everyone for your generosity so far. But I still need to raise much more.
Thank you so much for reading this and helping me to help others.
