The Pilgrim's Way Tour 2019

On the 30th August to 1st September a group containing trustees and friends will be cycling 300 miles from Winchester Cathedral to Canterbury Cathedral over 3 days loosely following the route of The Pilgrims Way. The purpose of the ride will be to raise much needed funds to support the provision of counselling staff to work with young people in Winchester. We would be very grateful for any donations that you can make, your money will make a direct difference to the lives of young people. The Pilgrim's Way Tour 2019

Winchester Youth Counselling

The project opened its doors in 2003 to provide a safe therapeutic space for young people aged 11- 25 who live in the district of Winchester. Young people’s emotional well-being is important to us and therapy can help them to understand their thoughts, feelings and emotions in more depth. Our aim is to help young people tell their story to a trained professional who can help them reflect, recover and learn more about themselves. Therapy is a process which can help young people recognise what needs to change in order to enjoy life more. Winchester Youth Counselling provides a free confidential counselling service, using professionally trained staff in an open atmosphere of trust and honesty, providing a safe environment and relationship in which young people are valued. They offer short-term or longer-term counselling, advice, support and help to parents, carers, relatives and professionals to young people living in the district of Winchester.

Projects within the organisation include:

Walk and Talk therapy - where young people are encouraged to explore emotional issues whilst walking in a natural location

Nature Therapy -where young people attend free Nature Therapy sessions in conjunction with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. Sessions include cooking over a campfire, wildlife observation, stream dipping and art and craft activities. Spending time in Nature can help reduce stress, anxiety and improve emotional health and well being.

De-stress, relax and chill - one to one free individual relaxation and well being sessions with a therapist to encourage a sense of physical, emotional and mental well being.
