Story
I'm walking 26 miles in one day - can I do it?
The Friends of Combe Down Surgery need help with maintaining the volunteer-run Patient Transport Minibus as well as supporting their ongoing social events and coffee mornings that work to bring people together and alleviate loneliness.
The minibus brings people to the surgery who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford taxis and can't use public transport and means that they can access more easily a wider range of services to keep them well, reduce social isolation and maintain their wellbeing.
The chairman of the group sadly recently died and as a practice team we are doing this long walk to support the friends and to honour the incredibly hard work they put in as well as honour the memory of their Chairman.
Some of us are walking 26 miles from Devizes to the Surgery and some are walking 10 miles. We'll be meeting up along the way.
It's a real challenge but worthwhile.
