Story

Yesterday, a light went out. Andrew ‘ Sooty’ Suter, at only 44 years young, was tragically taken from us in the early hours of the morning due to an aortic aneurysm. He was my mate and my brother in law, via marriage to my eldest sister Angela. Sooty was an incredible person. He never failed to make a friend wherever went. And I mean, never. He would chat to anyone, stranger, homeless person, staff, guests, customers. Simply anyone. The ripples of this loss will be felt far and wide.

Now his wife Angela needs to grieve. As does their young daughter Sophie. They can’t do that properly when they are worrying about so many things. Number one on the list, tragically, is money. They didnt have life insurance. But life goes on, Bills need to be paid, food needs to be put on the table, the funeral needs to be paid for, the family home that holds so many - now more so than ever -treasured home memories must be retained, but most importantly, Angela & Sophie need to NOT worry about money. It is my view, that grieving in the earliest days will help them the most. The pain will never subside, the gargantuan void that is left in their hearts & lives will never fill. Hopefully, they’ll learn to cope with it better as each day passes.

Angela and Sooty were true soul mates, with simple tastes and enjoyed simple pleasures. Make do & mend is their life message and you would NEVER see them waste money, they just don‘t have a lot of it. Sophie has the same ethos and is a fantastic credit to her parents, Sooty & Angela. She’s sad, but also focused on others around her too. This little gem needs the peace of mind that we can collectively give her. We can’t bring her daddy or Angela’s husband back and money doesn’t solve problems, but as Sooty used to say....... “it sure does grease the wheels”.

If we can all spare whatever money we can, in order to give them time to grieve, to focus on remembering Sooty - the husband & soul mate to Angela, the daddy to Sophie.

So many have asked how they can help Angela & Sophie in this gut achingly difficult time, so I’ve set up this page for them.

Please, if you can, help them with anything, every little bit will truly make a difference to this beautiful family. Or if you simply wish to leave a message of support, that too will be greatly appreciated.

All funds raised will go directly to Angela & Sophie.

Sincere thanks from our whole family for your support.
