Pelvic Floor issues are one of the hidden and less talked about medical issues. My wife received funding at the end of 2017 to raise awareness of this issue and instigated a Community Group, the funding allowed for several hundred people to gain knowledge of the issue, some of whom were so badly affected that they were advised to seek medical attention. We want to continue and indeed expand the groups reach and due to connections made with the initial project have people ready and willing to help. Many people suffer in silence, we would like to become at least a small voice that can help them to be heard.
The following is from my wife's Facebook page: (https://www.facebook.com/pelvicfloorawareexercise4all)
Oops! Moments We Need to Care.
Most of us are aware of leakage problems after having children or if you've been overweight or are overweight, many women just accept it as the norm and carry on with life. Not many women realise that engaging in certain exercises will only make the oops! moments worse. They don't know that they actually have weak pelvic floor muscles. Prolapse can also happen whereby the internal pelvic organs that have their openings in the pelvic floor muscles, start to slip down through the opening, (vagina) this is a very embarrassing and distressing issue for those affected. I did experience leakage when skipping or jumping and frequent toilet visits of every 2 hours! but after undertaking kegels (pelvic floor exercise) consistently over a period of time and adapting my exercise to be low impact, I no longer experience any leakage and can last at least 6-7 hours before I visit the ladies room!
This is a common problem, but something can be done about it, and with your help my wife would like to help as many people as possible. It affects peoples health and their social life, as well as costing the NHS hundreds of millions, but it is something with a simple solution for many. In Australia they take this problem seriously, it;s about time the UK did the same. Please help, every donation will help improve a life.

About the fundraiser
I am the treasurer of my wife's Community Group, that this fundraising is hoping to help. We live in a rural area and both want the opportunity to help the community in some way. The group has already had some success and we would like to build on that.
