Story
We are the 1st Lemington Scouts from Newcastle upon Tyne, and we have a massive dream. For the first time in our group’s history, we are planning an international expedition to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland—the "Permanent Mini-Jamboree."
Why does this matter? Our Scouts come from an area of Newcastle where opportunities like this don’t happen every day. For many of our young people, this won't just be their first time in the Swiss Alps—it will be their first time leaving the UK. We believe that postcodes shouldn't define a young person's horizons. Scouting is about Skills for Life, and this trip is the ultimate opportunity.
What will your donation support? By crossing the threshold of our local community and heading to Switzerland, our Scouts will:
- Meet the World: Forging friendships with Scouts from different countries.
- Build Resilience: Through Alpine teamwork and a range of activities designed to develop character and independence.
- Boost Confidence: Proving to themselves that they can navigate the world and succeed.
We’re working hard, too! Our Scouts aren't just asking for help; they are earning it. These incredible young people are doing everything they can to make this trip affordable for everyone in our troop. Your support—no matter the size—helps us cover the cost of travel, specialized equipment, accommodation, and insurance.
Help us show these amazing young people that the world is open to them. Let's get "The Lemons" to the Alps! Together, we aim to raise £15,600 GBP for this life-changing experience!
