Story
The Liminality Group work with children and young people aged 10-18 with the principal aim of changing the trajectory of children who are at risk of exploitation and those most at risk of becoming involved in criminality. We achieve this by providing crime diversion programmes within schools, access to work experience for children during non-term time periods and providing residential trips.
So why is this important? We also deliver services within custodial institutions to children sentenced for various offences. 95% of the children we work with have been excluded from school and often state that they had no real support during the non-term time periods of school. Had they had support, some believe that along with other interventions, this may have changed their trajectory.
We need your help to take 10 children away (who would otherwise be at risk within their local communities) and provide a safe space for them to have fun, learn, be challenged, grow and experience a week of psychological freedom. The residential will take place in the Lake District and Scotland across 6 days.
We begin in London with our staff collecting all children from home;
We drive to the Lake District for four days of activities, crime diversion sessions, fitness and curated teachable moments;
We drive to a remote area in Scotland for another 2-day activity experience;
We will spend time on a friend’s beautiful private estate learning about how the estate is maintained;
All food, transportation, staff salaries, lunch whilst travelling and all administration is included;
All children will have the appropriate clothing:
All donors will be updated on their progress and their experiences.
