Story

I first heard about Andy‘s story through a video on Facebook that had been shared by Channel 4 News. This was over a year ago, but Channel 4 recently re-shared the video and I watched it again, and I thought to myself, I hope Andy and dear Bailey are doing better now...

I wondered if I could help them at all, but I couldnt find any fundraising pages for them that I might be able to donate to. I commented on the video and asked if anyone knew how I could help them. And a nice lady replied and said that the charity StreetVets work with Andy and that I might be able to reach him through them.

So! I messaged StreetVets on Facebook and they suggested contacting Andy myself, and they gave me his email address. So, I sent Andy an email to tell him how the video I saw of him and Bailey had really affected me, how that I hoped they were doing better, and I asked him if he needed any help at all.

I got an email back from Andy, and he said that both him and Bailey are in a much better place thankfully. They have their own flat, and Andy is even at college to gain qualifications to possibly work in outreach to help other homeless people or addicts. How amazing is that. He is also working closely with StreetVets and has become a sort of ambassador for their organisation.

Although Andy is off the streets and is getting back on his feet, he is still struggling - I’m sure you can imagine how hard it would be to build your life back up from nothing.

For instance, Andy hasnt got a fridge or cooker. He also needs a coat and would love a cosy dog coat for Bailey too. Things like this we take for granted and can’t imagine living without! And so that is why I have started this JustGiving page - to raise a little money to get Andy the essentials. And Bailey too.

Any amount is so appreciated! Even a couple of quid. Just to make their lives a little easier. Like I said, just imagine building up a new life from nothing.

I will post updates on this page from Andy and Bailey too so please look out for those! Thank you.
