Sponsored Bike Ride - 30th September
We are raising money to support the development of the sports pavilion at Peppard Common. Please join our cycle challenge on Sunday 19th August. It is open to all ages who can ride a bicycle. The plan is to run three rides: The family and intermediate ride will be self guided using simple maps and can be attempted at any time during the day whilst the advanced ride will be guided and will depart at a set time in the morning.
1. Family (Easy) ride 6.9 miles (Family Ride Map ). Mainly offroad and/or quiet roads. An easy loop (with some uphill) between Peppard Common cricket ground to Stoke Row cricket ground and returning via a different route. Two pubs are passed on the way – Cherry Tree in Stoke Row and just at the end of the ride the Unicorn in Peppard Common. Also in Stoke Row there is the opportunity to stop half way at the Stoke Row Café for refreshment at halfway. The second half is all downhill so all the hard word is done.
2. Intermediate (Moderate) ride 15.9 miles (Intermediate Ride Map ). Mix of Offroad and/or quiet roads centred mainly in the Stonor valley. Further than the family ride with more challenging off road sections. The route takes the same initial directions as the advanced ride but begins to loop back to Peppard after Syncombe cricket ground.
3. Advanced (Road) ride 36 miles ( ).The PSRCC road ride will take in the beauty of the Stonor and Hambleden valleys and take approximately 3 - 3.5 hours. The route is all on good surface roads and does have some hills but should be able to be completed by moderately fit riders. The main guided ride will start at 9:30 and will be led by two experienced riders. Detailed route maps will be provided on the day so participants can self guide should they so wish. The ride will take in a breakfast stop at the Barn cafe in Turville Heath followed by a second stop in Henley before a gentle ride back to Peppard Common.

Maps of the proposed routes are available by clicking the links above.

5 years agoThis Sunday, our intrepid PSR cyclists set off in various directions on a beautiful autumn morning from the Peppard pavilion to cycle the three routes. So far we have raised over £1000 which is fantastic and this has helped us reach the target we set at the beginning of the year for PSRCC fundraising. The pavilion project is now a step closer thanks to everyone’s efforts. The site will remain open for a while if anyone else would like to donate to our cause. We would like to thank everyone who has kindly supported us. Andy and Allan
