I've raised £1000 to support the Andrew Cole Benefit Day at Ovington Cricket Club, to provide funds for his family.

On the 26th May 2023, Ovington Cricket Club's Andy Cole, at the age of 38, had a severe stroke. After a long period in hospital, including on life-support and Intensive Care, he is now currently in a specialist Neurological Rehabilitation centre in York, where he will be staying for at least 12 weeks. In typical Andy Cole fashion, he is determined in his rehab and is in good spirits.
Andy is a well-known figure in the local cricket scene, known for his stoic batting, ambidextrous bowling and unorthodox fielding. On the weekend before his illness, he scored an excellent 59 against local rivals Acomb.
As a member of the cricket club for approaching thirty years as a junior, senior player and former captain, everyone at Ovington CC wanted to do something to support Andy, his wife Rachael and their two children. He is a mainstay of the Ovington CC "family" and we want to do all we can to help out.
Therefore, on Sunday 3rd September 2023, we will be running an exhibition cricket match between a President's Team vs a current Ovington squad to raise money on the Little Knavesmire. Everyone is welcome to attend! You can find out more on the Ovington CC website or by contacting colebenefit@ovingtoncc.co.uk
This page is here so that people unable to attend the day have a place to support our fundraising efforts.
All the money raised from this page will go directly to the family of Andy to provide whatever support they will need.
