Story

In 2005 I had a motorbike accident. I ended up in hospital with a broken Pelvis and 5 broken vertebrae and various other injuries. My recovery went really well and after around 7 months I went back to work as a plasterer.

After around two years the pain in my lower back was getting worse, so bad in fact I had to give up work. I wasn't able to walk very far without severe pain so I had to start using crutches and a wheelchair. I enrolled on a music course at access to music in Brighton as I had started to learn to play guitar as a way of taking my mind off of the pain. I successfully completed my course with a distinction in my first year and a distinction star in my second. I had accumulated enough points to apply for University. I graduated in 2018 with BA in music business. I am currently studying for my GCSE's in Maths and English and have been excepted to study for my Masters degree In September 2019.

After I stopped working I was unable to do much exercise without considerable pain so I ended up putting on weight and becoming unfit. In November 2018 I phone the British basketball association who put me in touch with the Sussex Bears wheelchair basketball team. Ricky Perrin the team manager asked me to come along for a taster session, which was great fun and for the first time I was playing sport and being active again and it felt great.

I have now signed for the Sussex Bears development team and I have my first game in April. I have been using a heavy steel chair but I have been offered a secondhand lightweight chair, which normally retails at around £3000.00 but the team have a couple for £750.00 so this is the reason i am asking for help with the chair.
