Story
In September 2020, all-round legend and best mate, Dave Williams was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme, a highly aggressive brain tumour with a poor prognosis.
He bravely underwent brain surgery, but suffered a stroke during the operation. Yet, owing to his determination and with the help of dedicated, supportive physiotherapists, he is gradually regaining his mobility—which is extremely encouraging. Despite this early progress, his battle will continue with six weeks of radiotherapy followed by six months of chemotherapy, which again, he has embarked upon with remarkable courage and unshakable resolution.
After Christmas, Dave will make weekly journeys to London to take part in a special Clinical Trial to help give him the best possible chance against the cancer. Afterwards, he might need to travel to Germany for an experimental treatment which costs in the region of £250,000.
Dave is a family man, with a devoted wife and two young children and is going to need as much support as possible.
To try and help with the costs of travelling and accommodation in London, including the huge treatment fees; I have decided to raise what money I can by tackling the challenge of walking 500km by Monday 14th December 2020.
Please help and support Dave by sponsoring me to complete this challenge.
I know this has already been a very difficult year for everybody and finances are tight, but anything you can donate would really help Dave and his family during such a horrendous time, and will ensure he has the chance to access the treatment he needs.
Thank you.
