I've raised £1000 to help disadvantaged families over Christmas by giving them food hampers and children toy parcels. The charity is called SURVIVING CHRISTMAS.

Story

I am volunteering again this Christmas helping with this very worthy charity, the thing that I found very upsetting last year, was the lack of Christmas trees and decorations in a lot of the houses that we delivered to. I am making it my mission to raise extra funds to give artificial christmas trees and decorations to the people that do not have them.

The charity (Surviving Christmas) continues to raise much needed funds for the work we do with needy families, the homeless and the elderly in the local Hastings and Rother area around Christmas time. We make up about 700 hampers of food and deliver them to those most in need at Christmas. We also give toys and other festive items to enable families to have a Christmas they will remember. For Christmas Day and Boxing Day we open our doors at the hall in St Andrews Square and offer support and company to those who are homeless, lonely or in need of some extra help. We also provide a two course hot lunch on both days for those who would like it.

There is entertainment which also allows people to have a fun filled Christmas.
