I've raised £8500 to create a mobile welfare and changing facility for our rugby club, without it we can't coach kids in the area!

Story

Erdington Rugby Club is a community club based in the inner city of Birmingham. The area of Erdington is one of the most deprived areas in the UK. The club was reformed 2 years ago after a break of 13 years in its long 94 year history and since has led a nomadic existence.

The club now has the chance to secure a permanent base on its historic home of Spring Lane. However due to council planning restrictions the club is not allowed to put temporary changing or toilet facilities on the site, but the council have agreed the use of a double decker bus as mobile welfare and changing facility.

We have kindly been given a bus by a local company, Commbus Ltd but now need to raise funds to convert it. The bus is essential to our success, as under the RFU safeguarding regulations, we must have such facilities to enable us to coach our growing youth section.

The ERFC youth section which caters for kids ages 4-18 is a key part of our community strategy, by attracting youth to play this wonderful sport we will divert them away from the growing gang culture in the area, a key factor in the escalating knife crime epidemic!

ERFC is an ethnically diverse club that caters for everyone in its community, both male and female, we strongly believe we can not only coach people to play a sport but change their lives for the better and in the long term help them shape a better community for our area.

Please support us, however small the donation it is greatly appreciated. We are also offering companies the chance to sponsor the bus and have their logo displayed on it. If you would like to discuss this further please call Andy on 07785 270406.
