Story

In 2013 I lost my dad, Derek, to a cardiac arrest and my life changed forever. I have currently supplied 2 Public Access Defibrillators (PAD's) into my local community of Dumfries and Lochmaben.

On the 26th March 2019 I am raising money by doing a 12 Hour Duathlon (Wattbike and Treadmill) Challenge at my local gym DG One (Loreburn Hall) with the monies raised going towards supplying more PAD's into the community. There is a minimum amount available to the public and this life saving equipment will make a massive impact on someones chances of survival if they were to have a cardiac arrest and they were available to use by a member of the public. .

"Out of Hour Cardiac Arrests are a significant problem in Scotland. Around 65 people a week will have one. Only about 1 in 20 of these people will survive. Unfortunately, people who live in deprived areas of Scotland are 43% less likely to survive than their counterparts in other areas of the country”.
