Story

Tragically we lost Andy to pancreatic cancer on the 25th February after being ill for a very shot period of time. After attending his funeral and wake, I quickly realised how loved he was with almost 350 people attending that day!

Personally, I knew Andy the last 2 years whilst playing football on our local sports ground looked after by Andy. Being a groundsman was not just a hobby, but a true passion of Andy's as was evident whenever I drove past. I would always see him be cutting, rolling, or lining the pitch, Caroline always said that she didn't have a husband over summer as she lost him to the ground. This is why Arthur Radford is one of the best grounds to play on in the area currently!

Speaking and listening to Caroline before and during his funeral, Andy was such a loving husband, step father, and friend, always putting others before himself. If anyone asked for help, he would be available as soon as he could! It is clear that Andy will be sorely missed by so many and it was a privilege to know him in the short amount of time I did!

After speaking to Caroline, we would like to raise as much funds as we can for a memorial bench to be placed on the ground in memory of Andy, with any spare funds going towards a defibrillator kit which Caroline and Andy were beginning to plan for before his life was cut short. Any donations you can make would be kindly appreciated!
