Story

In the words of James Flavell:-

Hello People! Sad news that some of you may already know.

Heaping more hardship and heartache on the most undeserving man.

A few months after his daughter Emily died at the tender age of 18, and as they as a family are trying to deal with that loss, Andy Kelly has had a Stroke!!

I went to see him in hospital a couple of weeks ago and was shocked and saddened at what I saw. I had in my mind the words "mild stroke" but still didn't know what to expect.

I wasn't prepared to see my friend, such an ebullient and effervescent character, so incapable...in a wheelchair...barely able to speak...or even to stay conscious!

Of the many emotions I experienced I felt anger!

So many scrotes and scumbags traipsing the earth without a consequence in the world, but this can befall the most warm hearted man I know!

I was further affronted to discover that Lisa, who is obviously right by his side in the hospital, has to go back to work today. She has used up all her paid sick leave grieving for her daughter. Statutory sick pay doesn't even cover her rent.

Lisa hasn't asked for help but I can't help feeling compelled to offer it. I do not have an archetypal solution, even if there is one, but I hope jointly we can do something.

I don't think that raising a lump sum of money is the right thing to do in the long term. It gets easily absorbed into the expense of life, disappears too quickly and offers little benefit going forward. So, after a discussion tonight, an account will be set up to cover Andy and Lisa’s rent and council tax for 6 months.

If you want to contribute a little or a lot please do so

Not a word to Lisa or Shelby
