Beginning August 3rd 2017, I will be cycling approximately 950 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats over 12 days to raise money to support Alex on the next phase of his journey, receiving essential physiotherapy treatment in the UK following his life saving operation earlier this year in the USA.

On the 8th June 2016 Alex Goodwin was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma of his right femur, a rare bone cancer that affects children.

His father, a former colleague and close friend - Jeff Goodwin - has been truly inspirational in his efforts to support his son, raising funds through selling charity wrist bands, releasing the hit single 'Horizon on my mind' (supported by Emergency Services from across the country), organising cycling and sports events, completing an on-line blog of his sons journey sharing his thoughts, highs and lows along the way, and most recently releasing a book of 'Alexander's Journey' which is available to pre-order now.

Alex has been to the United States and received his life saving treatment, having his femur replaced with a telescopic prosthesis which will lengthen as his body grows, and has also successfully completed radiotherapy.

Alex will continue to need significant aftercare and support throughout his teenage years and beyond as a cancer survivor, and through completing this challenge I am hoping to raise £1000 to fund specialist physiotherapy to help him with his recovery.
