Story
‘An Evening with The Bella Mama’s & guests’ will take place in Harpenden on Jan 19th, 2019.
This event is in aid of ‘The Freddie Goodchild Fund’ & Woodfield School, Leverstock Green where Freddie was a pupil.
The ‘Freddie Goodchild Frust’ was originally set up to raise funds to support the yearly educational needs of Freddie Goodchild, beloved son of our lovely Bella Mama, Suzannah Goodchild. Freddie was severely disabled and had a rare neurological condition.
Over time, Suzannah recounts how the word spread about their fundraising and even people she didn’t know offered to help. Eventually they had the money they needed to help Freddie and then decided to help others including raising money for specialist equipment, sending a family on holiday, funding therapy or decorating a child's bedroom.
Sadly, Freddie passed away in April 2017, aged 12. We are all devastated for our lovely Suzannah and we wanted to show our support & solidarity with the GoodChild family by helping to raise money for the ‘Freddie Goodchild Fund’ and support the work it is doing in helping local families & children. Just recently a sensory room for Freddie’s school has been built in his name.
The 2nd charity we are supporting is Woodfield School, Leverstock Green where Freddie went to school. Woodfield is a school for pupils aged 3 – 19, with severe and complex learning difficulties. The school has high expectations of and for its pupils, aiming for them to become happy and confident young people. They actively encourage families and friends to be involved with all aspects of school life and aim to work in partnership with parents/carers, enabling their pupils to realise their potential.
‘An Evening with The Bella Mama’s’ hope to raise £1500 by selling tickets for the concert, through donations on this page and having a raffle on the night of the concert.
If you cannot make the night, we would greatly appreciate your donations on our JustGiving page, in aid of the event.
Thank you
