I am raising funds to help put me through my HND health, fitness and exercise at Fife College. This is very hard for me to admit but I need help, I am an ex Royal Navy wren who has battled cancer and survived. I served 6 years in the Royal Navy and served in the Bosnian war fixing helicopters and aeroplanes since I left the service I have been in the care profession working with the elderly and in the community with people suffering with mental health issues more recently with armed forces veterans with PTSD. This was rewarding but I needed a change and went back to college last year and studied the HNC in health, fitness and exercise while trying to hold down a full-time job which I passed with flying colours with an “A” in my graded unit but this has taken its toll on my mental and physical health. I was helped last year by different funds but they have all turned me down this year. I did not know where to turn and this is my last hope of doing a career that I really love. If anyone can help me in anyway I would be eternally grateful. The end goal of these studies will be used to better the lives of people with mental health issues, veterans with PTSD, domestic abuse survivors. These studies have been used to great lengths in Hedley court in the rehabilitation of men and women from the armed forces and I would like to bring it to a wider audience.
