Story

On the 10th April 2019 Angela Robson (Mum to Claire and I) suffered a Grade 1 aortic dissection of her aortic arch which essentially means that the main artery leading from her heart had failed.

After almost 12 hours of emergency open heart surgery to repair the damage she spent the following 8 days on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and a further 3 weeks in Cardiac Care wards at the MRI. The care given during those first few hours and days was amazing, without it the outcome would have been very different.

Having worked in the medical profession for over 35 years Mum understands how important having the correct equipment is. Upon learning that there is a single ECG machine - a critical piece of kit - for over 50 beds she committed to funding an additional one for them!

And that's where we come in. To help raise these funds and give the hospital this vital equipment we will be completing a number of fundraising events over the coming months including obstacle races, runs and maybe even the odd bake sale.

Any donations large or small will go directly to funding the ECG machine with the residual donated directly to the ward.
