Story

Noah’s Star had just begun their sibling support service at BWHT when we had our little boy (8 weeks early) in October 2017. At some points in those early days during our time on the NICU, it was difficult to bring our then 4year old daughter along and my partner and I were having to tag team our time at the hospital.

When our daughter had finished her first session of Noah’s star that initial weekend of it being rolled out, I remember that the volunteer brought her round to the NICU in a huge flood of tears... all because she didn’t want to leave as she was having far too much fun! ... And so our special Noah’s Star journey began. Every weekend for the next four weeks she attended the “hospital club” which gave her dad and me - together - some much needed time to spend with our little boy who needed us so very much.

We can honestly say that throughout our NICU journey, the support we had from the volunteers at Noah’s Star meant such a lot to to us as a family. Our daughter was safe, happy and entertained.

We would like to complete the sponsored walk this year on sunday 13th may at Cannon Hill Park to help JoAnne and her team of volunteers raise vital funds for the activities they offer for siblings of babies on the unit.

Our journey: Isla holding her little brother, Evan not long after he was born, Isla and some of the volunteers last year at Disney movie night and a 5 year olds ompression of her time at hoslital club!
