Story

Hi, thanks for reading my story.

At the beginning of 2019 I am planning to have a bit of a change. I have grown my hair so I could have it cut and donate it to the charity that makes real hair wigs for cancer fighters in memory of a friend who lost her battle.

As you can see from the photo it is a bit long!!!

Through having my big cut I want to help a couple of projects close to my heart - The Veterans Garden Project in Dumfries and the Diaconate Council of the Church of Scotland.

The Veteran's Garden Project provide a safe place for serving personnel and veterans to go for a cuppa, a chat and mutual support. Once a month they have a breakfast club too.

They only moved into their current premises in April and through lots of hard work and determination were able to produce a small crop of vegetables by the end of the summer.

The other project is helping to bring Deacons from Europe and Africa over to Scotland in June 2019 for our DIAKONIA Region Africa Europe(DRAE) assembly. It is 25 years since DRAE was formed and we are hosting the celebration for this anniversary.

Any money raised will be shared equally between the two projects.
