I'm running the Cork Run in the Dark 10k to raise funds for Sonas Special Junior School in County Cork . My friend Claire, whose son attends Sonas, is running the 5km Run in the Dark. We would appreciate any support you can offer us to help this great school .

Sonas Special Junior Primary School is an Early Intervention school for children aged 3-6 years with a diagnosis of Autism. The school was set up in 2003 by the Department of Education and Science. The school is located in Carrigaline, about 10 miles south of Cork city.

Despite living in Manchester , I went to school myself in the town of Carrigaline, and this school is close to my heart as it provides great educational support for one of my oldest friend's children.

The philosophy of Sonas is based on the belief that each child is a special individual endowed with certain unique capacities and talents. The aim of the school is to nurture each child’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development in a secure and friendly environment.
