I've raised £1200 to To fund an expedition to Swaziland and Mozambique to carry out a building project to help local communities and make a difference.

After my A levels I wanted to get away from my normal life and try and do something to help make a difference. I realise I have been very lucky in life so far and want to give back to those in need.
There is an opportunity through school with an organisation called World Challenge to go to Mozambique and Swaziland on an expedition which would involve me helping in a community to make a difference, going on a trek and being able to see these amazing countries and meet the people.
Swaziland has many problems including having the highest HIV prevalence rate in the world, with an estimated 210,000 people out of its 1.2 million population, or 27.73% living with HIV or AIDS. An estimated 70,000 children in Swaziland have been orphaned due to AIDS. One out of every six Swazi children under the age of 15 has lost both parents to the virus.
While I am in Swaziland along with the rest of my expedition team I will be helping to build important basic infrastructure which will improve people's day to day lives as well as learning about and getting to know the community.
We also visit Mozambique, which has very recently been struck by a massive cyclone, devastating parts of the country and killing many hundreds of people and leaving many more without homes and shelter.
To fund this amazing trip I am working and earning most of the money myself through my job. However I will have to fund raise £1,200 towards the overall £4,000 total cost of the trip. This is why I have set up this Just Giving page to ask for your support. I am planning various fundraising activities. The first of which is a 25 mile sponsored hike up the Three Peaks of Yorkshire in April 2019. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go directly to funding the expedition.
Cheers, Angus
