Story

Hi all. My boyfriend of three years suffers from severe anxiety and depression which stops him feeling able to see his friends, me or even leave his house at points. He lost contact with his family over ten years ago and this along with his depression has caused him problems with his dental health over the years due to neglect during bouts of depression. His front teeth have been affected the worst with chips and decay. This makes it hard for him to talk to people and most importantly it is now hard for him to eat. He has only recently been able to go to the dentist after many years without and whilst they are willing to help the health of his teeth the NHS do not prioritise how they look even though it makes him anxious and unable to speak to people other than me. The dentist told us that he could have veneers in about three months for six of his front teeth but that this would cost £3000 (£500 per tooth). I'd like him to feel able to smile confidently again, be able to speak to people without embarrassment and be able to eat without worrying so we'd like to reach this target and help him get his confidence and his life back.
