Story
Our Story
On the 8th November 2025 our mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. This news turned her life upside down and she descended into a profound depression. As a family we had never experienced our mum facing mental health issues and for the next 2 months we pulled together reaching out to the NHS and any services available to get our mum back on track. Navigating a new cancer diagnoses teamed up with a spiral in mental health is the toughest thing we have ever experienced and to watch our loving, bright, vivacious, caring mum struggle and feel so terrified of what was in-front of her was awful.
Sadly on the 8th January 2026 our mum felt that she could no longer carry on and took her own life. You never think it will be you, you never think it will be your family. By doing this walk we want to bring awareness to mental health and the importance of checking in and looking after ourselves before we are too far down the road. Lets come together to remember our mums beautiful energy and big personality that shone throughout her 55 years.
